Drilling Rig Testimonial
Jimmy Marr – EMERALD, Q
Heavy vehicle diesel fitter & drilling company owner/operator
Having worked with diesel engines my entire life I could see the need for a metal treatment that could not only save on fuel consumption but at the same time reduce wear and tear on the machinery. Both these factors have become extremely important since beginning my own drilling company. I decided to try Bi-Tron to determine its cost-effectiveness, using a 2 stroke Detroit, 400 horsepower engine compressor, driving at constant speed at high idle 12 hours per day. I used Engine Formulation in the motor, EP Metal Treatment in the gearbox and Diesel Fuel Conditioner in the fuel. As this compressor runs at a constant power and is stationary on a drill rig, it makes for a trial with little variation and changing conditions to consider, and of course greater accuracy.
The engine driving the 900CFM/350 PSI, 2 stage sullair compressor consumed:
Before Bi-Tron: 41 litres diesel per hour, after Bi-Tron: 34 litres diesel per hour
With this fuel saving Bi-Tron pays for itself and I now use the products in all of my machines
