Environment

Bitron International recognises it’s responsibility and role in a clean, healthy & sustainable future for our planet. Some of our environmental impact initiatives include:

  • Manufacturing locally (Brisbane, QLD) using locally-sourced raw materials where possible.
  • The installation of a waste paper & cardboard recycling bin. Not only does this divert considerable volumes of material from landfill, the cost-savings have helped offset the expense of other green initiatives.
  • Use of natural lighting almost elminating the need for electric lights altogether.
  • All staff members now work some of their week from home (telecommuting) and our Christmas closure has been extended. This has reduced our carbon footprint from staff transport.
  • New information systems are being implemented reducing the need for onsite computer servers and use more efficient, shared “cloud computing” resources.
  • All recyclable glass, metal and plastics have been diverted from landfill to co-mingled recylcing.

Bitron International recently became a Platinum Green Partner of the
Greenhouse Neutral Foundation. Read about it here.
